This concept garden quite literally turns the world upside down. Designed to challenge, intrigue and amuse visitors, the garden features a simple urban terrace front garden and house façade, with a major twist: the ground is the sky and the footpath and lawn are overhead.
The grass lawn, lollipop potted trees, conifers and border hedging are all artificial and have been carefully placed to show-off the versatility of the materials used.
Visitors are invited to go through the front door to take fun “look at me I’m upside down” pictures and selfies.
Mark O’Loughlin is no stranger to Bloom having previously won medals for his Alice in Wonderland (2011), Wizard of Oz (2013) and Secret Life of Pets (2016) gardens. He returns this year to turn the world of show gardens quite literally upside down.
A previous winner of investment on RTE’s Dragon’s Den, Mark runs a successful synthetic grass business from “Grassland”, their new company headquarters in his hometown of Naas. Sanctuary Synthetics was recently awarded the title of SME of the Year by Kildare Chamber of Commerce. (View Profile)
