The WAFA Ireland Management Committee was appointed by the Association of Irish Floral Artists, AOIFA, following their successful bid to host WAFA from 2011—2014. During our three year tenure the team is responsible for the management of all WAFA administration and also for the organisation of an International Seminar and a World Flower Show. A General Assembly is also convened during the World Flower Show to conduct the business of the association.
The seminar ‘A Celtic Journey’ was an exciting and rewarding first for Ireland when we enjoyed sharing the many characteristics of our country with the delegates from 22 of the member countries. It was a resounding success and WAFA Ireland is hugely grateful of the many appreciative letters and emails received. We will treasure them always along with the many memories that each delegate left in our hearts.
Our focus now moves to another journey, ‘A Floral Odyssey’, the 11th World Flower Show and another first for Ireland. This event will showcase floral arrangements designed by over 600 floral artists from all the 31 member countries. Expect to be inspired and delighted by the spectacular use of a diversity of plant materials from right around the globe. The show will also feature flower arranging demonstrations, lectures, garden visits and an exciting social programme. Planning is progressing daily and we are delighted to welcome you to our newly upgraded website where we will keep you up to date with all that is happening.
WAFA Ireland acknowledges the warm welcome afforded to our members by previous host countries and we are now eager to reciprocate by pledging our support to ensure a memorable experience for you all when you visit us in Dublin from 18—22 June 2014.
