The eden regeneration Project is a unique scheme that aims at diverting young adults away from crime and into training and employment.

The project is a 6-12 week work-based training initiative encouraging young people from the inner-city to develop new skills and help them better understand working in a nature-based environment.

It is a fact that young people who are not in education or training are on average twenty times more likely to be convicted of a crime. We know education levels amongst those with a history of offending are notoriously low.

The criteria for this project is that each young person must have an interest in horticulture and/or construction and be willing to undertake full mentoring.

The latter allows each mentor to develop a working relationship, this in turn will help each young person back into community, thus linking them with potential employers.

The project site is on 4 acres of isolated farmland and woodland in Co. Sligo. Ireland and it is the objective to redevelop this site including building a small lake on 2 acres together with log-cabin, re-constructing the 400yr old farm cottage and out-buildings, and re-generating the woodland area, with its rich biological diversity and wildlife habitat.
