Saving Seeds from Flowers – Irish Seed Savers

Flowers are really important in your vegetable garden to encourage biodiversity and plenty of insects. Now is the time to review your flowers and collect flower seeds ready for the next season. Go through your flower patches and collect your seeds from flower heads that are completely died back, whether it be the seed heads, such as poppies, or individual seeds, then keep them in a cool dark place, ready for sowing next year. Or, make up little gifts to give to friends and family such as calundula, poppies, nasturtium and foxgloves.
