Plantsperson Course, One sunday a month for a year at Hunting Brook Gardens with Jimi Blake. Starts at February 17th – November 10th 2013. (course runs one Sunday per month) 12 classes.

  • Learn how to create a spectacular borders with succession planting throughout the year and effectively group plants to create spectacular combinations.
  • Learn from lectures by leading specialist and growers in the country, see live plant specimens at Hunting Brook Gardens and on visits to nurseries and important gardens.
  • Creating spectacular borders with succession throughout the year.
  • Detailed notes on at least 50 lants from each visit to Hunting Brook.
  • Participants are taken through a wide range of plants – from the highly aristocratic to the reliable good doer.
  • Access to private gardens and specialist nurseries led by Jimi and specialist plantsmen at each venue. These visits provide unique in-the-field learning and are a highlight of this course.
  • If you miss a class you can repeat it the following year.

Beginners Gardening Course – Hunting Brook Gardens

Beginners Gardening Course – One wednesday a month from Feb 20th – Nov 20th 2013 at Hunting Brook Gardens with Jimi Blake. The beautiful surroundings, wide range of plants and relaxed, informal classes make learning at Hunting Brooks Gardens a pleasure and an inspiration.

Jimi aims to give beginners a comprehensive understanding of the practicalities of creating and maintaining a healthy and attractive garden each month of the year, while allowing you to pracitce each set of skills monthly class.

You will learn about soil preparation, selecting the right plant for the right place, pruning, planting, growing plants from seeds, cuttings and division and many more gardening techniques and general maintenance.

Visit other gardens and garden centres. The course is aimed at the beginners or those who want to update their existing knowledge.

This could also be the first step in a new career.

Course Dates: 20/2, 20/3, 24/4, 22/5, 19/6, 24/7, 21/8, 25/9, 23/10, 20/11 at 10.15am – 3.15pm.
€65 per class which is payable in 3 instalments (10 classes).
